At Silva Nix, we specialise in breeding purebred British Shorthair (BSH) and British Longhair (BLH) cats in a variety of stunning colours and patterns. Our main focus includes Golden Point, Silver Point and other rare colours. All of our breeding cats come from champion bloodlines imported from North America.
What colours and patterns do British Shorthair and British Longhair come in?

When will my British Shorthair fully mature and show its final coat colour?
British Shorthair kittens are born with soft baby fur, and their full colour and plush adult coats develop gradually. Their body and coat mature around 3 years old. Males typically reach 6–8kg, while females range between 4–6kg.
Are British Shorthairs good pets?
Absolutely! They are known for their calm, affectionate, and gentle personalities. They are friendly with children and other pets and are low-maintenance, only requiring weekly brushing and regular care.

How much does it cost to adopt a British Shorthair?
Pricing varies depending on colour, pattern, age, and lineage. For example, our 4.5-month-old golden point male kitten is $3000 AUD, including microchip, desexing, and first two vaccinations. For current availability and prices, please contact us directly.

Do you health test your breeding cats?
Yes. All breeding Queens and Studs undergo DNA testing for hereditary diseases, including PKD and HCM, ensuring the health and longevity of every kitten.
How do you socialise your kittens?
From birth, our kittens are raised in a loving family environment. They are introduced to household sounds, human touch, and other pets early on, ensuring they are confident and friendly companions.
Do you provide written sales contracts and health guarantees?
Yes. Each kitten leaves us after 12 weeks with a written contract, a six-month genetic health guarantee, and care instructions. We also conduct interviews to ensure the right match between kitten and family.
How do you ensure your kittens go to the right homes?
We conduct FaceTime, WhatsApp video, or in-person interviews to match each kitten with the right family based on lifestyle and preferences.
Do you provide ongoing support?
Yes! We stay in touch with our families and offer guidance and support as your kitten grows.
If we can no longer care for the cat, do you help re-home it?
Absolutely. If you can no longer care for your cat, we will assist in finding a new loving home.
Do you offer pet insurance?
Yes, we arrange complimentary pet insurance for the first 2 months. You may then continue with the same provider or choose another.
