Welcome to SILVA NIX Cattery, a sanctuary where our love for cats and pursuit of excellence come together in perfect harmony. Founded by Chris, a lifelong cat enthusiast with a discerning eye for quality, SILVA NIX was born from a passion to elevate the standards of British Shorthair and British Longhair breeding in Australia — following our relocation from Seattle, USA.

Silva Nix’s core breeding specialisation is golden British cats across four groups: Golden Shaded British Shorthair, Golden Shaded British Longhair, Golden Point British Shorthair and Golden Point British Longhair. Selected silver lines may also feature in our programme, but golden British Shorthair and British Longhair cats are our primary focus. This focused programme allows us to develop consistent type, temperament and coat quality rather than trying to breed every recognised British colour.

Each of our breeding cats descends from champion North American bloodlines, chosen for their outstanding conformation, gentle temperament, and captivating beauty. Every pairing is thoughtfully planned to preserve the breed’s finest traits while enriching their colour depth, structure, and personality.

But SILVA NIX is more than a cattery — it’s a community of cat lovers who share our appreciation for elegance, companionship, and care. We take time to know each of our future kitten owners, ensuring that every kitten finds not just a home, but a family that cherishes them as much as we do.

Our commitment to excellence extends beyond appearance. Each of our cats receives regular veterinary care and age-appropriate vaccinations, together with breed-relevant health screening. Genetic testing is used where a validated test is applicable. Screening helps us make informed breeding decisions and reduce known risks, but it cannot guarantee lifetime health. Raised in a loving home environment, our kittens are carefully socialised to support confidence and affectionate temperaments.
